Embedded Security Engineer
Applied Intuition is seeking a multifaceted Embedded Security Engineer to enhance the security architecture of our vehicle platform. This role involves leading the implementation of embedded security measures across multiple platforms, ensuring the integrity and safety of our automotive systems. The position is based in Sunnyvale, California, and requires in-office presence five days a week.
The Embedded Security Engineer will assess and guide security for existing and new products, establish and maintain secure boot processes for embedded devices, and collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate and manage Hardware Security Modules (HSMs). Additionally, the role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, hardware engineers, quality assurance, and product management, to integrate security into the entire product development lifecycle.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with over five years of experience in product or cybersecurity engineering roles. Expertise in secure boot processes, HSM integration, and Board Support Package (BSP) maintenance for embedded devices is essential. A strong understanding of cryptographic principles, protocols, and algorithms, as well as proficiency in programming languages commonly used in embedded systems development (e.g., C, C++, Python), is required. Familiarity with industry-standard security frameworks, protocols, and compliance requirements (e.g., FIPS 140-2, Common Criteria) is also necessary.
The base salary for this full-time position ranges from $150,000 to $242,000 annually.
