Embedded Software Engineer - Core OS
Applied Intuition is seeking a senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our Vehicle OS team in Sunnyvale, California. This team focuses on developing a flexible suite of products that assist vehicle manufacturers in creating, deploying, and updating comprehensive vehicle software and AI applications. As a key member of this rapidly growing project, you will contribute to building the next-generation vehicle platform.
In this role, you will architect and develop highly reliable embedded software, integrate vendor components into a unified software framework, and ensure optimal low-level communication through protocols such as CAN, LIN, I2C, SPI, and UART. Your responsibilities will also include implementing real-time operating system (RTOS) applications, driving custom in-vehicle infotainment solutions, and developing Linux-based Android services and applications compatible across various Android versions and devices. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to bring up custom software on new devices and manage the maintenance process is essential.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience working on embedded devices and hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. A strong background in embedded software development using C/C++ and assembly languages is required, along with hands-on experience with Android Board Support Package (BSP), Android middleware, and Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) customization and maintenance. Advanced software debugging skills, particularly in low-level hardware debugging and resolving Android system crashes, are also necessary. Experience with complex embedded systems and custom System on Chips (SoCs), including expertise in peripheral interfaces like UART, SPI, CSI-2, I2C, GPIO, USB, and PCIe, is highly valued.
Compensation for this full-time position includes a base salary ranging from $171,000 to $264,000 annually, equity options, and a comprehensive benefits package.
