Embedded Software Engineer (Vehicle OS)
Applied Intuition is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our Vehicle OS team in Tokyo, Japan. This role focuses on developing and integrating embedded software for production vehicles, collaborating directly with customers to enhance our Vehicle OS platform. Applied Intuition, founded in 2017 and valued at $15 billion, provides digital infrastructure for AI-driven machines across various industries, including automotive and defense.
In this position, you will work closely with customers to integrate their software features into our Vehicle OS using C and C++. Responsibilities include writing embedded vehicle platform software in C, C++, and Simulink, managing vehicle integration timelines to meet start-of-production milestones, and establishing integration and testing strategies across multiple time zones between Japan and the US. You will also influence the team's technical strategy, balancing new features, scalability, and technical debt, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software that meets project requirements.
The ideal candidate holds an MSc in computer science, robotics, or a related field from a top institution and has over five years of experience in shipping complex embedded software. Proven experience in designing and implementing solutions to complex architectural problems, production experience with C++ software, and an understanding of automotive electronic systems are essential. Fluency in both English and Japanese, both written and verbal, is required to operate effectively in a bilingual business environment.
