Energy Market Analyst (Solutions)

The Energy Market Analyst (Solutions) role at Energy Exemplar involves developing and delivering production cost models to support the company's solutions. The analyst will work closely with the India-based team to build, maintain, and enhance models, ensuring they meet evolving market needs. This position also requires staying informed about energy market regulations and policies, particularly within the Indian context.

Key responsibilities include conducting research and data management by sourcing and validating large datasets, automating workflows using tools like Python and Excel, and maintaining organized model structures. The analyst will build and configure PLEXOS models for various applications, perform regular updates to energy market models, and support data preparation to maintain data integrity. Additionally, the role involves developing and running energy market scenarios, assisting in scenario analysis, and creating BI reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI.

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Energy Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools, particularly Microsoft Power BI and Excel, is essential. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or VBA for data manipulation is advantageous. A foundational understanding of energy economics and market structures, with knowledge of European energy markets as a bonus, is also required. Experience with data modeling software, especially in energy markets, and familiarity with PLEXOS or comparable energy simulation tools are preferred.
