Samsung Semiconductor's Technology Enabling Development Lab (TED) is seeking a Firmware Engineer to join their team in San Jose, California. TED focuses on developing host interface firmware that bridges system software and flash management firmware, driving Samsung's V-NAND technology and supporting enterprise-class applications such as hyperscale data centers and big data processing.

In this role, the Firmware Engineer will design and develop high-performance firmware and software for advanced enterprise SSD products. Responsibilities include debugging, optimizing, and validating SSD firmware on complex embedded multi-core architectures, supporting customer qualification and adoption of SSD products, and participating in advanced SSD storage development and research projects.

Candidates should possess a BS in Computer or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 3+ years of experience, an MS with 1+ year, or a PhD with relevant experience in storage firmware development. Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems, experience with embedded software or firmware development, and familiarity with storage technologies like NVM Express, PCI Express, and NAND Flash are required. Experience with ARM or similar embedded multi-core architectures, JTAG/ICE debuggers, and protocol analyzers is also necessary.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $160,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
