Engineer, Mechanical Integration
Archer is seeking an experienced Engineer, Mechanical Integration to join our team in San Jose, California. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a pivotal role in designing and integrating high-reliability, safety-critical systems for our electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of sustainable air mobility by developing innovative solutions in a collaborative environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the digital mock-up for a significant section of the aircraft, overseeing space allocation, routing envelopes, and ensuring subsystem accessibility and maintainability. You will manage interface requirements models, the top aircraft assembly part number, and BOM structure. Additionally, you will conduct regular design reviews to resolve conflicts and mature the design through critical design reviews (CDR), while ensuring all system separation requirements are upheld. Collaboration with manufacturing engineering will be essential to ensure the aircraft zone is designed for efficient manufacturing.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in systems or structural design engineering, along with a BS, MS, or PhD in engineering. Strong interpersonal and project management skills are essential. Experience with type certification of an aircraft from inception to completion under 14 CFR Part 23/25/27/29 or equivalent regulations is required. Proficiency in CAD design and BOM management is also necessary.
At Archer, we offer a competitive base salary ranging from $225,000 to $280,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
