Engineering Manager (Customer Portal)
The Engineering team at Veriff is dedicated to developing software that addresses the challenges of online identity verification. We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Customer Portal team, which is responsible for building and maintaining a comprehensive self-serve platform used by thousands of SaaS and Enterprise customers. This platform enables clients to procure, manage, and control their identity verification services, playing a pivotal role in the customer experience and managing the entire SaaS customer lifecycle.
In this role, you will set the strategic direction for the team, anticipating and addressing scaling-related challenges through thoughtful long-term planning. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and analysts to develop software that is both functional and user-friendly, effectively solving real customer issues. Additionally, you will ensure clear communication of the team's decisions, direction, and progress across the company. Mentorship will be a key aspect, as you support team members in their professional growth through guidance, pairing, and delegation. Your responsibilities will also include participating in the recruitment process to build a diverse and talented team, as well as planning for long-term headcount and recruiting needs. Collaboration with other engineering leaders to influence the technical and product vision is essential, and hands-on involvement will be expected when necessary.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading engineering teams and experience in hiring and team building. A background as a software engineer is required, with familiarity in Python and/or TypeScript considered a bonus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, especially in a distributed team environment. A passion for fostering good engineering practices, culture, and processes is crucial. Strong emotional intelligence and people leadership skills are necessary to create a psychologically safe environment that empowers the team to perform at their best.
