Engineering Manager (FE) - Editing Performance

The Engineering Manager (FE) - Editing Performance at Canva leads a team dedicated to enhancing the speed and scalability of the Canva Editor. This role is pivotal in ensuring that users experience a fast and responsive design platform, regardless of the complexity of their projects or the devices they use.

Key responsibilities include coaching and mentoring a team of approximately seven engineers, collaborating with technical leads to address complex performance challenges, and working closely with product managers to align the team's efforts with the company's roadmap. The manager will also drive the planning and execution of large, cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving the editor's performance.

Candidates should have prior experience in technical leadership or mentorship roles, a background in software development with a focus on building frameworks, libraries, or APIs, and familiarity with frontend technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React, TypeScript, and MobX. Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities are essential for success in this position.
