Engineering Manager for Sportsbook Team
GR8 Tech is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Sports Business Unit's engineering teams, focusing on delivering comprehensive sports betting content and functionality for our B2B platform. This unit is responsible for the end-to-end development of sports-related capabilities, including trading, data feeds, risk management, mathematical models, odds services, and sportsbook content. The role combines leadership, technical delivery ownership, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure scalable, reliable, and high-performance sportsbook solutions.
Key responsibilities include conducting regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback, and creating development plans for team members. The Engineering Manager will define project scopes, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, create detailed project plans, and efficiently allocate resources to meet project demands. Ensuring high-quality standards through thorough testing, validation of deliverables, and maintaining comprehensive documentation are also essential aspects of the role.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the betting or trading domain, strong proficiency with C#/.NET in building scalable, high-load backend systems, and expertise in designing distributed systems and microservices architectures. Solid knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging systems like Kafka, as well as strong expertise in databases (SQL and NoSQL), including performance tuning and scaling, are required. Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and operating high-availability, low-latency systems is also essential.
