Engineering Manager (infra) - Core Data (ANZ Remote)
As an Engineering Manager (Infrastructure) for the Core Data team at Canva, you will lead a group of software engineers dedicated to developing and enhancing Canva's core data and storage platforms. This role is pivotal in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of Canva's data infrastructure, supporting the company's mission to empower users worldwide with intuitive design tools.
Your primary responsibilities will include designing and implementing database and storage solutions that prioritize scalability, reliability, security, compliance, and cost efficiency. You will analyze the performance and efficiency of Canva's storage systems, utilizing data-driven insights to improve reliability and reduce operational overhead. Additionally, you will drive the evolution of Canva's persistent storage towards a storage-as-a-service model, shaping architecture, tooling, and developer experience.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software engineering within large-scale, production environments, with deep expertise in modern data storage and data platform technologies. Proficiency in programming languages such as Golang, Python, or Java is essential. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and large-scale build or tooling systems is highly desirable. A strong understanding of security, privacy, and compliance requirements for data storage systems is also crucial.
