MNTN is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Backend Reporting squad, a team dedicated to building and operating the data foundation that powers customer-facing reporting and data-driven decision-making. This role involves transforming raw data into reliable, scalable analytics systems that serve as the single source of truth for enterprise reporting. The Engineering Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of reporting data, including core performance metrics, reporting-facing invoicing data, and all reporting ETL pipelines.

Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring a team of Data Engineers and Analytics Engineers, owning all analytics business logic and data engineering systems that power reporting, and acting as the primary owner of reporting correctness. The role also involves establishing and enforcing data contracts, freshness guarantees, and reporting SLAs in partnership with Product and customer-facing teams. Additionally, the Engineering Manager will drive the design and evolution of reporting schemas optimized for performance, cost efficiency, and ease of extension as requirements change.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, or SRE-adjacent Engineers building scalable production data platforms. A strong background in data engineering, distributed systems, or platform infrastructure is essential. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to balance platform rigor with Product ownership, including shaping requirements and setting expectations with stakeholders. Deep understanding of SQL-based analytics systems, experience operating data pipelines with defined SLAs, and hands-on familiarity with modern analytics tooling are also required.

MNTN offers a 100% remote work environment within the US, a flexible vacation policy, and an annual vacation allowance for travel-related expenses. Employees enjoy a three-day weekend every month, competitive compensation, 100% healthcare coverage, a 401k plan, and access to coaching, therapy, and professional development.

Joining MNTN means becoming part of a company that values trust, ambition, quality, radical honesty, and compassionate leadership.
