Archer is seeking an Engineering Test Technician to join our team in San Jose, California. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in testing and validating components for our all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, contributing to our mission of advancing sustainable air mobility.

In this role, you will perform motor and drive unit testing on specialized dynamometer setups, set up equipment and devices for specialty testing, and troubleshoot and debug test setups across mechanical, electrical, and software domains. You will collaborate with design engineering on custom test configurations, design and build basic lab fixtures and tools, and maintain a clean, safe, and usable lab and shop space. Additionally, you will support engineering activities including prototype development, proof of concept studies, and process and assembly validation, while communicating cross-functionally with engineering teams to achieve project goals and meet timeline deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate's Degree or equivalent extensive practical experience as a testing technician, with direct hands-on experience with mechanical and electronic assemblies, including low voltage/high voltage wiring fabrication. Proficient knowledge of electrical circuitry, including high voltage systems, and experience with product testing such as specialty dynamometer testing, battery testing, and electrical testing are essential. Excellent documentation and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, familiarity with 5S or similar workplace organization methods, and experience following all aspects of maintenance safety protocol are also required. The ability to occasionally conduct physically demanding test activities and lift up to 50 lbs, as well as adaptability to work a flexible schedule based on project or team needs, are important. Preferred qualifications include a valid high voltage training certificate from an OEM or demonstrated working knowledge of battery-powered systems, basic Python experience, and basic CAD design experience (e.g., NX, Catia, Solidworks).

For this position, we are targeting a base pay range of $50,600 to $69,600. Actual compensation offered will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Archer offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
