Archer, an aerospace company based in San Jose, California, is seeking an Enterprise Cloud Security Engineer to design and secure the cloud infrastructure supporting the next phase of sustainable air mobility. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the security of cloud-native environments, including telemetry, flight operations, and enterprise systems, while adhering to aviation and federal standards.

Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining secure cloud architectures across AWS and Azure, enforcing zero-trust principles, and implementing least-privilege access using advanced IAM policies. The engineer will lead security reviews and automated scanning of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates, integrate security tooling into CI/CD pipelines, secure containerized workloads, and ensure compliance with industry frameworks such as NIST SP 800-53 and DO-326A. Additionally, the role involves building detection rules for cloud threats and safeguarding critical flight telemetry and sensitive data pipelines through robust encryption and data loss prevention strategies.

Candidates should have over five years of experience in Cloud Security, DevSecOps, or Infrastructure Engineering, with at least three years focused on public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Deep hands-on expertise with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Linux environments is required, along with proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Bash for automating security tasks. Experience with CSPM/CNAPP tools and SIEM platforms, as well as working knowledge of frameworks like NIST CSF or FedRAMP, is also necessary.

Preferred qualifications include familiarity with aerospace or defense industry standards such as DO-326A, relevant certifications like AWS Certified Security – Specialty or CISSP, experience designing "Zero Trust" networks, and conducting cloud penetration tests or "Purple Team" exercises to validate defenses.

Archer offers a competitive base salary ranging from $133,400 to $185,000, determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The company fosters a diverse and inclusive environment, supporting and celebrating all team members, and is dedicated to advancing the benefits of sustainable air mobility.
