Equipment Automation Intern
The Equipment Automation Intern will support the Instrument Automation team in managing and maintaining computerized systems within a GMP manufacturing environment. This role involves assisting with compliance activities, troubleshooting equipment connectivity, and supporting documentation and data integrity efforts. The intern will gain exposure to regulatory standards, system lifecycle management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key responsibilities include assisting with day-to-day activities related to computerized systems, including project execution, vendor coordination, and data management. The intern will support compliance with 21 CFR Parts 11, 210, 211, EU Annex 11, and other applicable regulations. Additionally, the role involves participating in monitoring activities such as SOP execution, data backup, disaster recovery, and user account management, as well as helping maintain and troubleshoot equipment network connectivity.
Candidates should be pursuing a relevant academic major in Engineering, Life Sciences, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale. Desired academic grade levels include Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student. A strong interest in laboratory equipment and computerized systems is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as proactive problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, are also required.
This internship offers the opportunity to gain an understanding of computerized system compliance and data integrity standards, develop technical troubleshooting and equipment connectivity management skills, and become familiar with controlled systems and software such as Maximo, Truvault, IDP, COMET, and Nucleoview. Interns will also gain experience in authoring and executing SOPs and documentation.
