Firmware HIL Engineer
Applied Intuition is seeking a Firmware HIL Engineer to join our onboard software team in Sunnyvale, California. In this role, you will be responsible for testing our Vehicle OS features to ensure the quality and reliability of firmware components. You will work closely with development and integration teams to validate hardware and firmware performance, contributing directly to the robustness and value of our products.
Key responsibilities include designing advanced automated test suites for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), Processor-in-the-Loop (PIL), and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) systems. You will integrate these test suites into development processes, create reporting mechanisms for automated testing, and develop automated regression tests in collaboration with development teams. Additionally, you will assist in creating test plans and frameworks, explore innovative methods for testing firmware robustness, and report on test coverage and evaluation metrics.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, along with over 5 years of experience in embedded design and validation. Proficiency in Python and C or C++ is required, as well as expertise in testing devices and debugging hardware using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and digital multimeters. A strong desire to improve code robustness and design testing infrastructure is essential.
Preferred qualifications include experience in electronic and system schematic design using tools like Altium Designer, familiarity with Docker and Linux environments, experience designing or interfacing with test setups, knowledge of source control systems such as Git, and continuous integration tools like Jenkins. Knowledge of electric vehicles and testing hardware is also advantageous.
Applied Intuition offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary ranging from $125,000 to $253,000 annually, equity options, and comprehensive benefits.
