Fleet Specialist
As a Fleet Specialist on the Autonomous Vehicle Operations team at Applied Intuition, you will oversee frontline operators and ensure efficient execution of daily shift activities. You will serve as the key operational point of contact during your shift, directly managing vehicle assignments, triage escalations, and team performance. This role requires strong leadership and situational awareness to ensure safety, quality, and consistency in AV testing operations. You will also partner closely with the Site Lead to implement local strategy, uphold policies, and maintain alignment with broader organizational goals.
Key responsibilities include leading and supporting a team of operators during assigned shifts, ensuring clarity of responsibilities and strict adherence to safety protocols. You will oversee the maintenance, inspection, and general health of the vehicle fleet to ensure maximum uptime for testing. Managing end-to-end logistics, including route planning, long-distance testing, and equipment transport, is also a critical part of the role. Additionally, you will develop daily run plans aligned to data collection quotas, track disengagement rates, and report root causes to engineering.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in operations, field team leadership, or vehicle/fleet coordination. A proven track record in managing vehicle maintenance, driver shifts, or complex logistical scheduling is essential. Experience guiding frontline teams in a dynamic, tech-driven environment is highly valued. A proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving, conflict resolution, and team support, along with a safety-first mindset with a track record in high-pressure environments, are key attributes for success in this role.
