Flight Test Engineer
Archer is seeking a Flight Test Engineer to join our team in San Jose, California. As a leading aerospace company, Archer is dedicated to developing all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft aimed at advancing sustainable air mobility. Our mission is to design, manufacture, and operate aircraft that can carry four passengers with minimal noise, revolutionizing urban transportation.
In this role, you will assist in preparing development, company, and FAA certification ground and flight test plans. Your responsibilities will include contributing to the creation of test cards, interfacing with engineers, maintainers, technicians, and program management to achieve test objectives safely and efficiently, and supporting the production of company and certification reports. Additionally, you will prepare materials for test readiness reviews and provide support during test events as a flight test engineer or test conductor, both onboard aircraft and in the control room.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in developmental flight testing and hold a bachelor's or higher degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution. A collaborative attitude, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Proficiency with data analysis tools such as MATLAB or Python is required, and the ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Class 3 medical certificate is necessary. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time within 100 miles of the San Francisco Bay Area is also expected.
Archer offers a competitive base salary ranging from $80,000 to $90,000, determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
