Archer is seeking a Flight Test Instrumentation Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in San Jose, California. As a leading aerospace company, we are dedicated to developing all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft aimed at revolutionizing sustainable air mobility. This role is integral to our mission of designing, manufacturing, and operating aircraft that can carry four passengers with minimal noise.

In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the design, fabrication, developmental testing, and certification efforts of our piloted eVTOL aircraft project. Your primary duties will include performing electrical installation design for all flight test instrumentation hardware, planning and overseeing the installation of flight test instrumentation on test aircraft, and collaborating with internal teams and vendors to address instrumentation and measurement challenges. Additionally, you will advise the Instrumentation Director on all aircraft instrumentation electrical design activities and develop processes and documentation to support the installation and maintenance of flight test instrumentation.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and have over seven years of experience as an Electrical Design Engineer or Instrumentation Engineer. Essential qualifications include experience with the design and installation of wiring for flight, routing of wires and harnesses for aircraft, generating work instructions, and design for manufacturing. The role also requires the ability to lift 30 pounds unassisted.

Preferred qualifications encompass experience with flight test configuration management processes, FTI systems and sensor maintenance, Siemens Capital for diagrams and harnesses, and managing drawing configurations. Experience in training personnel on basic and advanced design topics is also advantageous.

For this position, we are targeting a base pay between $185,000 and $235,000, with actual compensation determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
