Braze is seeking a Forward-Deployed Data Scientist to join our expanding team focused on AI deployment and customer success. In this role, you will collaborate with customer Analytics/BI teams and Braze colleagues on implementations, including use case definition, data integration, pipeline setup, and machine learning model configuration. Additionally, you will extend product capabilities by improving architecture and developing reusable data pipelines, APIs, and components. Working closely with the reinforcement learning pipeline development team, you will refine and advance our self-learning algorithms. Your insights and technical expertise will contribute to shaping BrazeAI's product strategy and roadmap, ensuring successful adoption, measurable outcomes, and long-term customer success.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's or PhD is preferred. You should possess 3–5+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, or similar role working with large-scale data and production environments. Proficiency in Python (Pandas) and core machine learning libraries (TensorFlow, Keras, scikit-learn, CatBoost, XGBoost) is required, along with strong skills in SQL for querying and manipulating datasets. Experience in machine learning pipelines and model deployment is essential. You should be adept at writing well-structured, modular, documented code and following strong development practices, including Git, CI/CD, testing frameworks, type-hinting, and code reviews. Experience with DevOps tools (Airflow, Kubernetes, Terraform, GCP), data integration/ETL and pipeline optimization, or reinforcement learning algorithms is a plus. Strong communication skills are necessary to work directly with clients and cross-functional teams, aligning stakeholders and translating technical concepts into clear business value. An entrepreneurial problem-solving mindset and a continuous learning attitude are also important.
