Forward Deployed Engineer
Banyan Software is seeking an exceptional full-stack software engineer to join our team as a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE). In this role, you will serve as the critical interface between our central AI Application Modernization Factory and various application teams. Your primary responsibility will be to embed within delivery teams, driving the modernization of key applications and ensuring the successful adoption of AI-assisted software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
As an FDE, you will provide hands-on technical leadership by designing, developing, and delivering modernization efforts, including re-platforming and microservices adoption, to AWS cloud-native architectures. You will act as the subject matter expert on our AI Modernization Factory's tools and processes, facilitating the integration of AI-assisted software development practices into daily workflows. Additionally, you will build trust and rapport with diverse teams, identify technical and process bottlenecks, and implement effective solutions to drive organizational change.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of progressive experience in software engineering, focusing on enterprise applications and application modernization. Strong hands-on experience across the full application stack, including front-end, back-end, database, and infrastructure, is essential. Expert proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, TypeScript, C#, or Java is required. Deep practical experience with AWS and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform is also necessary. Proven abilities in consulting, change management, and driving organizational/process change within established engineering teams are highly valued.
Banyan Software offers a competitive base salary for this position, with the expected range being CAD 145,000 to USD 170,000, excluding annual bonuses when applicable. Salary is based on various factors, including market conditions, location, and job-related skills and experience.
