Banyan Software is seeking a Vice President of Finance & Controllership to lead the operational core of its global finance function. This role involves overseeing the monthly close, consolidation, audit, and reporting processes, transforming a growing portfolio of acquired software companies into a cohesive financial entity. The position is based in Toronto, Ontario, with a hybrid work schedule requiring three days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities include managing the global close and consolidation cycle under US GAAP, aiming to reduce the current ten-day close to five days. The VP will also oversee the year-end audit, ensuring a smooth process across headquarters and operating companies. Additionally, the role involves standardizing accounting practices across operating companies, leading a team of approximately ten professionals, and integrating newly acquired companies into the financial reporting framework.

The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of progressive controllership experience, including at least five years in a senior role. A background in public-company reporting with a focus on audit and internal controls is essential. Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency, and multi-jurisdiction consolidations is required, along with a foundation in a Big 4 or comparable firm. Proficiency in NetSuite ERP and deep knowledge of US GAAP, particularly related to the software industry, are also necessary.

The compensation for this role includes a base salary ranging from CAD $200,000 to $250,000, excluding annual bonuses and equity options. The company offers a hybrid work model, providing flexibility while maintaining in-office collaboration. Additional benefits include opportunities for professional development and a dynamic work environment focused on long-term growth.

Banyan Software operates on a permanent-hold model, acquiring and growing vertical software businesses without the intention to sell. This approach fosters a culture of long-term investment in processes, systems, and people. The company values collaboration, execution, and practical problem-solving, offering employees the opportunity to contribute to meaningful growth and operational maturity.
