Freelance Digital Court Reporter
Prevail Legal, a well-funded startup based in San Francisco, is seeking a Freelance Digital Court Reporter to join our team in Kansas City, Missouri. Our innovative platform integrates secure video conferencing with intuitive tools designed for remote, in-person, and hybrid legal proceedings. This role reports directly to the Senior Operations Manager and requires in-person attendance.
As a Digital Court Reporter, you will assist with live stenographic depositions and sessions on the Prevail platform. Your responsibilities will include recording proceedings, swearing in witnesses, marking and maintaining exhibits, monitoring and managing sessions, and providing technical and administrative support as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, along with a current Notary License for the state of Missouri. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is previous experience with video conferencing and database platforms. Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications is required. A comprehensive understanding of Missouri's legal processes and requirements, as well as basic national knowledge, is necessary. Candidates must have access to a webcam, headset, and computer.
This position offers an hourly pay range of $20 to $25, with compensation varying based on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
