Global Technical Account Management Lead, Cash App Pay, Afterpay & Clearpay
Block is seeking a Global Technical Account Management (TAM) Lead to oversee the TAM team supporting Cash App Pay, Afterpay, and Clearpay merchants. This team plays a crucial role in maintaining merchant health and growth through post-sales technical partnerships that enhance performance and drive commercial outcomes. The position involves leading a distributed team of Technical Account Managers across the US, UK, and Australia, serving as trusted technical partners to major merchants. The team operates at the intersection of product, engineering, solutions engineering, go-to-market strategies, and merchant success, combining deep product and technical expertise with commercial acumen to foster merchant growth and retention.
In this hands-on leadership role, the Global TAM Lead will define and execute the global TAM strategy, aligning team priorities with the commercial objectives of Cash App Pay, Afterpay, and Clearpay. Responsibilities include evolving the team from reactive support to proactive merchant enablement, establishing clear goals and performance measurement frameworks, and leading, coaching, and developing a globally distributed team. The role also involves serving as the escalation point for critical merchant issues, partnering with Product and Engineering to represent the merchant voice, and building strong cross-functional partnerships with Sales, Account Management, Solutions Engineering, Product, and Engineering teams.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in technical account management, solutions engineering, customer success, or technical program management within payments, fintech, e-commerce, or SaaS industries. Experience leading and managing distributed or global teams is essential, along with a track record of building and scaling technical post-sales functions that drive measurable commercial outcomes. Technical fluency across payments infrastructure, APIs, integrations, and e-commerce platforms is required, as well as the ability to build cross-functional partnerships with go-to-market, Product, and Engineering teams at leadership levels. Experience working across multiple regions and navigating the complexities of global markets is also important.
