Head of Data

EarnIn is seeking a Head of Data to lead the vision, evolution, and operational excellence of our end-to-end data ecosystem. This role oversees teams responsible for data persistence layers, a state-of-the-art data platform, and business insights, ensuring our data systems remain modern and high-performing to support our AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities include leading, developing, and scaling a high-performing data organization encompassing engineering, machine learning infrastructure, and analytics. The role involves defining and executing a company-wide data strategy aligned with platform, product, and AI/ML needs, managing key vendor and technology partnerships, and championing a data-driven culture that empowers teams to make confident, insight-led decisions.

The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in data engineering, infrastructure, and systems, with at least 5 years of experience building and leading engineering teams. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or equivalent experience is required. Deep expertise with distributed systems (Spark, Flink), event-driven pipelines (Kafka), and cloud platforms (AWS preferred) is essential. Proficiency in Python and SQL is required, with experience in Scala and Databricks considered a plus.

The position offers a base salary range of $315,000 to $385,000, plus equity and benefits. This is a hybrid role based in Mountain View, requiring in-office work two days a week.
