Head of Frontier AI, Integrated Systems
Anduril Industries is seeking a Head of Frontier AI to lead the development of advanced artificial intelligence capabilities within its Integrated Systems division. This role involves building and managing a world-class machine learning team focused on creating safe and secure agentic and perception systems for defense applications. The position is based in Washington, D.C., and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge defense technology solutions.
The Head of Frontier AI will be responsible for driving the strategy to deploy performant AI agents on embedded warfighting compute platforms. Key responsibilities include managing a team of cleared machine learning engineers, researchers, and product managers; providing technical leadership in the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI solutions; leveraging extensive defense robotics datasets to develop innovative AI capabilities; coordinating with internal testing teams to design specialized evaluation benchmarks; and partnering with U.S.-based Frontier AI Labs to advance autonomy in embedded hardware.
Candidates must have experience leading and growing AI/ML teams, deploying AI technologies in classified environments, and possess expertise in deep learning techniques and generative AI technologies. Strong programming skills are essential, and eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance is required. Preferred qualifications include experience with edge-deployed machine learning systems, prior work in defense technology or startups, and an active U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $335,000 to $444,000 USD, along with highly competitive equity grants.
