Head of Production, UnderSea Dominance
Anduril Industries is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Production to lead the establishment and scaling of a new production site within the UnderSea Dominance division. This role involves developing uncrewed maritime and air domain systems, including the Extra Large Autonomous Undersea Vehicle (XL-AUV) Program, to deliver long-endurance, multi-mission capabilities to customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for standing up a product-based production system within existing facility infrastructure, contributing to Anduril's mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology.
Key responsibilities include establishing and activating a new product-based production line within an existing facility, transforming raw space into a high-functioning manufacturing environment. The Director will lead the end-to-end production of complex systems, ensuring seamless integration from sub-assembly to final delivery. Rapidly accelerating production rates to meet surging demand across U.S. and allied markets is essential, as is developing and scaling a localized supply chain capable of supporting high-capacity maritime production. Additional duties involve setting tasks for the production line, optimizing workflows, developing comprehensive metrics to monitor real-time performance, and maintaining full accountability for Quality Management Systems (QMS) and cost/schedule performance.
The position requires a minimum of 5 years in a production leadership role within the hardware development industry, with a proven track record of successfully scaling products from prototype to full-rate production. Candidates should demonstrate experience in scaling production systems to meet demanding delivery schedules and possess significant professional experience spanning both supply chain and manufacturing operations. Success in navigating the unique complexities of local supply chains and taking a production system from low-volume/prototype stages to high-rate, rapid execution is crucial. Technical proficiency in developing and implementing operational metrics, production schedules, and quality control frameworks from scratch is also required. Experience in standing up new sites or international expansions, particularly for defense or critical infrastructure applications, is highly desirable.
The salary range for this role is $190,000 to $252,000 per year. Anduril offers comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans at little to no cost to employees, along with life and disability insurance coverage. The company provides generous time off, including a holiday hiatus in December, and offers caregiver and wellness leave. Additional benefits include coverage for fertility treatments, adoption, and gestational carriers, as well as access to free mental health resources 24/7. Professional development reimbursement, company-funded commuter benefits, and relocation assistance are also available, depending on role eligibility. Retirement savings plans, including traditional 401(k), Roth, and after-tax options, are offered to U.S. employees.
Anduril Industries fosters a culture of innovation and rapid development, aiming to bring cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years. Employees have the opportunity to work on transformative projects that directly impact national security and defense capabilities. The company emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, continuous improvement, and strategic leadership, providing a dynamic environment for professional growth and development.
