High Voltage Electrical Design Engineer
Hut 8 is seeking a High Voltage Electrical Design Engineer to join our team dedicated to building and operating some of the world's largest data centers for next-generation computing workloads, including AI, Colocation, Cloud, and Bitcoin Mining. As a High Voltage Electrical Design Engineer, you will independently make decisions regarding engineering problems and methods, utilizing intuition and innovation to solve design challenges. You will be responsible for performing detailed electrical design and system studies for medium to extra high voltage substation facilities and power systems, including load flow studies, short circuit studies, protective relay coordination, and other specialized analyses. Additionally, you will develop one-line diagrams, AC/DC control schematics, wiring drawings, and cable schedules, as well as coordinate QA/QC design reviews and final sign-off of documents issued for procurement and construction.
The ideal candidate will possess a BSEE or BSCE degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience, or an M.S. degree in engineering with sufficient experience as determined by management. Professional registration or the expectation of achieving professional registration within a specified time period is required. Candidates should have the ability to sit for long periods, occasionally lift up to 20 pounds, and possess specific vision abilities including close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel to job sites is required.
