[Hybrid] Staff Rotor/Hub Structural Analyst
Archer is seeking a highly motivated and experienced engineer to join our team in revolutionizing the aviation industry. The candidate will support analysis and testing of the rotor system on a new unmanned vehicle platform, including the rotor head, blades, and control system. This role requires expertise in structures of metallic and composite materials and a deep understanding of rotorcraft dynamic systems. The ideal candidate will act as a mentor to other team members and establish best practices for the program.
Key responsibilities include performing detailed structural analyses of dynamic system components, evaluating static strength and fatigue life of critical structures, and authoring structural substantiation reports. The role also involves supporting full-scale component ground testing and flight testing, developing best practices for structural analysis, and collaborating with aerodynamics and loads & dynamics teams to design high-performance propeller and rotor blades. Additionally, the candidate will work with internal and external customers to ensure on-time delivery of data.
The position requires a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, along with over five years of experience in the design and analysis of critical aircraft structures. Proficiency in ANSYS, NASTRAN, or other finite element software is essential, as is knowledge of fatigue and damage tolerance of composites and metallic components. Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills are necessary, as well as experience in a fast-paced design environment. Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, over ten years of experience in rotorcraft dynamic systems, and familiarity with FAA regulations.
The base pay for this position ranges from $152,100 to $190,100, with actual compensation determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The role may require travel up to 10% to Archer facilities or supplier facilities.
