Block is seeking an Information Systems Engineer to join the Business Systems Integration team, which is responsible for the end-to-end systems driving the company's CRM, Procurement, Finance, Hardware supply chain, logistics, fulfillment, and after-sales service. The team designs, builds, and manages integrations and processes that connect various operational systems to scale efficiently and intelligently. This role offers the opportunity to work in a distributed team environment, allowing employees to reside where they feel most creative and productive.

The Information Systems Engineer will design integrations across enterprise business systems, including Salesforce, Oracle Cloud, Snowflake, Looker, and external partner systems using MuleSoft or other Integration iPaaS platforms. Responsibilities include building Python-based tools for supporting integrations, automations, and process optimization; writing and optimizing SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, reconciliation, and analytics; collaborating with partner engineering and operations teams to ensure integration robustness, security, and scalability; creating and executing unit, integration, and regression tests for custom components and data flows; monitoring and supporting launched integrations and automations to continuously improve reliability and performance; contributing to technical documentation, design reviews, and version control using GitHub and modern DevOps practices; and leading incident response and root cause analysis for critical production applications and integrations.

Candidates should have at least 8 years of experience architecting, designing, and scaling enterprise APIs and integrations in high-volume environments, with 4+ years of hands-on experience in iPaaS Integration platforms, preferably MuleSoft. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Kotlin, Java, or Go is required, along with experience integrating with enterprise business systems like Salesforce, Oracle Fusion Cloud, Workday, or SAP. Advanced proficiency in SQL and familiarity with data pipelines in Airflow, Fivetran, Prefect, or Databricks are also necessary. The role demands excellent communication and collaboration skills, a solid understanding of software engineering best practices, and a proven track record of delivering complex integrations for procurement, finance, or supply chain systems.
