Investment Manager
As an Investment Manager at WPP Media, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Associate Investment Director and Client Service Teams to deliver exceptional implementation and trading practices. This position is integral to building trusted and influential relationships with clients, media, and agency partners, ensuring best-in-class client service and innovative media solutions across both offline and digital platforms.
Your primary responsibilities will include accurately inputting media bookings into the Pegasus system within 24 hours of confirmation, verifying proformas against media plans and supplier contracts to resolve discrepancies, and managing invoice queries to ensure resolution within five days. Additionally, you will develop and maintain strong relationships with media owners, attend supplier presentations and work-in-progress meetings, and actively participate in discussions to provide updates on current or upcoming client activities.
The role also encompasses media buying duties, such as receiving and interpreting campaign briefs from the client service team, briefing media vendors within agreed service level agreements, evaluating media owner responses, negotiating favorable pricing based on client budgets, and preparing recommendations aligned with client objectives. For television buying, you will set cost-per-thousand (CPT) targets to achieve cost guarantees, purchase airtime to meet campaign objectives within agreed tolerance thresholds, adhere to media plan budgets with 100% accuracy, and conduct ongoing monitoring with pre- and post-analysis of TV campaigns.
To excel in this role, you should have a minimum of four years of experience in an investment or trading-related position, including at least one year managing junior team members. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and trading tools such as TVMAP, ETAM, and Pegasus is essential. Strong relationship management skills, particularly with media owners, the ability to confidently communicate with and present to clients, excellent attention to detail, and strong organizational and time management skills are also required.
