IT Systems Engineer I
Rocket Lab Corporation is seeking an IT Systems Engineer I to join our dynamic IT team in Auckland, New Zealand. As a leading end-to-end space company, Rocket Lab delivers responsive launch services, complete spacecraft design and manufacturing, and satellite components, aiming to open access to space. The IT team plays a crucial role in supporting global operations across computer systems, networks, and devices, ensuring seamless information access and operational efficiency.
In this role, the IT Systems Engineer I will be responsible for implementing, operating, and continuously improving computing platforms, networks, and applications essential to Rocket Lab's operations. Key responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining IT systems to ensure reliability and security, participating in cross-functional teams for IT project implementation, producing design and process documentation, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards such as PSR and NIST 800-171.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a technical role, with the ability to lead teams and work independently. Proficiency in areas such as Windows and/or Linux server environments, virtualization technologies, Active Directory, database and reporting technologies, modern web-based applications, security frameworks, and cloud-based technologies is essential. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills are also required to diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
