Knowledge Management (KM) Legal AI Specialist

Wilson Elser is seeking a Legal AI Specialist to support the firm's artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives by managing the creation, organization, and deployment of AI-based knowledge assets. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Knowledge Management Innovation and serves as a firmwide subject matter expert on AI, monitoring developments in technology and the competitive marketplace. The position emphasizes user enablement, adoption, and engagement, promoting a culture of knowledge management and innovation aligned with the department's mission and vision.

Key responsibilities include conducting research to identify user and business needs that can be addressed through AI solutions, consulting with attorneys and practice teams to integrate AI into daily workflows, and managing vendor relationships with AI solution providers. The specialist will work with tools such as Harvey AI and Lexis Protégé, design and refine prompts for generative AI tools, and develop best practices for AI integration. Additionally, the role involves creating user-friendly resources, conducting training sessions, and promoting AI adoption across the firm.

The ideal candidate will have a strong intellectual curiosity and the ability to connect diverse data sets to identify practical applications for emerging technologies. They should possess excellent communication skills to effectively engage with attorneys, practice teams, and other stakeholders. Experience in knowledge management, AI integration, and change management within a legal or professional services environment is preferred.
