The company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join its Landing Gear team. This 10-week full-time summer internship offers a hands-on opportunity to support the design, development, and validation of Archer's Landing Gear and Brake Control Systems.

In this role, the intern will assist in designing, building, and implementing flight hardware, test stands, procedures, and reports for qualification, certification, and production applications. Responsibilities include collaborating with the Landing Gear team on technical direction, managing delivery, conformity, testing, and certification processes, performing performance analyses such as braking energy and multibody dynamic landing analysis, and reviewing flight test data.

Candidates should be entering their 2nd or 3rd year of college and possess knowledge in mechanical design and drawing generation using CAD tools. Experience with Siemens NX CAD and Simcenter FEA tools is a plus. Additional qualifications include understanding kinematic analysis and optimization, structural analysis using hand calculations and finite element methods, strong organizational and project management skills, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and motivation are essential. Experience with engineering student design teams (e.g., Baja SAE/Formula SAE) and proficiency with hand tools are advantageous.

The internship is part of a 10-week full-time summer program with two possible date ranges: May 26, 2026 - July 31, 2026, or June 15, 2026 - August 21, 2026. The role is based at Archer's headquarters in San Jose, California, and relocation or housing assistance is not provided. Compensation ranges from $25.00 to $35.00 per hour, determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Archer fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment, valuing diversity as a driver of innovation and success. Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, gaining practical experience and contributing to the advancement of sustainable air mobility solutions.
