Law Library Manager - Research
The Law Library Manager will lead client-facing library services within Harbor's Research and Intelligence department. This full-time, fully remote position involves managing a high-performing team to deliver exceptional service using innovative legal technology solutions. The primary schedule is Monday through Friday from 10 am to 7 pm EST.
Key responsibilities include supervising and guiding department staff, fostering a collaborative work environment, and overseeing the maintenance and optimization of the client's integrated library system and related digital platforms. The role also involves managing the acquisition and processing of physical and electronic resources, developing strategies for organizing and managing the digital collection, and ensuring compliance with copyright and licensing agreements. Additionally, the manager will participate in the rollout and training for AI-powered legal research tools and lead various client initiatives and projects.
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent, with a minimum of five years of experience in technical services or library systems management, preferably in a law firm or corporate setting. At least three years of experience managing or leading a library function is required. Strong knowledge of library technologies, integrated library systems, and digital resource management is essential, along with deep familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, or Bloomberg Law. Experience with emerging technologies and trends in law libraries, including AI applications in legal research, is preferred.
