Lead Data Engineer

As a Lead Data Engineer at WPP Media, you will serve as the senior technical authority for data engineering within the Wavemaker team. This role involves defining and implementing advanced data engineering strategies, focusing on the Measure data platform, to meet the diverse needs of Wavemaker clients. You will collaborate closely with the Wavemaker Business Intelligence team to ensure the delivery of innovative and scalable data solutions.

Key responsibilities include leading the development of data engineering strategies and architectures that prioritize scalability and reliability. You will act as the technical figurehead, fostering a community of practice among engineers across WPP Media's Business Intelligence and Data Engineering teams. Your expertise will be crucial in customizing the Measure data platform, which encompasses tools like Adverity, Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, dbt, and PowerBI, to design and implement complex data ingestion, transformation, and storage solutions.

The role requires extensive experience in data engineering or related fields, with demonstrated leadership capabilities. Proficiency in designing and managing data solutions on cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform and AWS is essential. A strong command of SQL and familiarity with modern data transformation tools like dbt are also required. Additionally, experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and a solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines are highly desirable.
