Lead Product Manager, Payments

As a Lead Product Manager for Payments at CLEAR, you will spearhead the vision, strategy, and execution of the company's payment capabilities across its product suite. This role is pivotal in enabling secure, seamless, and scalable transactions that enhance member experiences and drive business growth. Your work will be central to building trust, reducing friction, and expanding the value delivered to members and partners.

In this position, you will define and own the product strategy and roadmap for CLEAR’s payments platform, encompassing payment acceptance, billing, refunds, risk and fraud mitigation, reconciliation, compliance, and platform reliability. You will lead the development and enhancement of core payment systems in collaboration with Engineering, Finance, Security, and Operations teams to ensure accuracy, robustness, and seamless user experiences. Additionally, you will design and deliver scalable, compliant payment flows that support consumer subscriptions, partner programs, and new business lines.

The ideal candidate will have over six years of product management experience, preferably in payments, fintech, transaction systems, or high-integrity platform components. Demonstrated experience evaluating and integrating with multiple payment service providers, fraud vendors, billing systems, tax engines, and accounting tools is essential. A deep understanding of payment processing, authorization flows, payment gateways, subscription billing, risk and fraud concepts, and reconciliation is required. Strong cross-functional leadership skills and the ability to drive progress through ambiguity from vision to detailed execution are also critical.

The base salary range for this role is $170,000 to $215,000, depending on levels of skills and experience.
