Lead System Administrator
Braze is seeking a Lead Systems Administrator to serve as the technical escalation point for our Service Desk, ensuring the reliability, security, and operational excellence of our IT services. In this role, you will lead incident responses, perform root cause analyses, and enhance systems through automation and process improvements. Additionally, you will mentor team members and act as a subject matter expert across multiple IT domains.
Key responsibilities include investigating and resolving complex technical issues escalated from the Service Desk, maintaining and configuring core IT services, and managing business continuity. You will act as Incident Manager during service outages and security incidents, ensuring clear communication with the business. The role also involves providing advanced support for platforms such as Google Workspace, Zscaler, macOS, networking, and Okta, as well as developing custom scripts to improve system efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with experience supporting SaaS platforms like Google Workspace, Slack, Okta, and Iru, including API-based administration. Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools such as Bash, Python, or Ruby is essential. A strong understanding of IT operations best practices, including security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery, is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to prioritize work based on impact and urgency, are also important.
For candidates based in the United States, the starting salary for this position is expected to be between $113,700 and $133,700 per year, with an On Target Earnings (OTE) between $126,300 and $148,600 per year, including bonus or commission.
