Legal Assistant-Entry Level - DC
Milbank LLP is seeking an entry-level Legal Assistant to join its Washington, D.C. office. This role involves providing comprehensive support to attorneys within a specific practice area, contributing to the firm's commitment to delivering exceptional legal services.
Key responsibilities include managing and organizing case files and document productions, conducting and compiling research, maintaining and updating working group lists, and organizing due diligence documents. The Legal Assistant will also assist with deposition and trial preparation, draft correspondence to clients and other counsel, and prepare Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings. Additional duties encompass assisting with the creation of corporations and limited liability companies, validating and processing vendor invoices, coordinating the filing and service of motions, and assembling documents for hearings and client meetings.
Candidates must possess a four-year college degree by the time employment commences. Essential skills include strong client service orientation, demonstrated written and oral communication abilities, and the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, critical and analytical thinking, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat. Flexibility to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, is necessary. Additionally, candidates are expected to become a notary public within the first six months of employment.
