The Major Sales Engineer, Japan, will join Cato Networks, a leading provider of secure and optimized connectivity solutions for enterprises, as part of a dedicated sales engineering team supporting the company’s expansion in the Japanese market. The role focuses on collaborating with the sales team and engaging with customers to understand their technical challenges and demonstrate the value of Cato’s unified cloud-native platform. As a key technical advisor, the Major Sales Engineer will bridge the gap between customer requirements and Cato's innovative solutions, playing an integral role in building strong client relationships.
Day-to-day responsibilities include delivering compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations to prospective customers, providing technical guidance during the sales process, and responding to detailed technical inquiries. The role also involves designing effective solutions using Cato’s product suite, supporting proof-of-concept activities, and collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to ensure customer needs are met. Frequent client meetings and joint visits with sales colleagues are central to success in this position.
Candidates should possess a strong background in networking, security, and cloud technologies, preferably with experience in enterprise sales engineering or solution architecture. Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English are required, along with the ability to tailor complex technical concepts to various audiences. Experience working with SD-WAN, cloud security, and SaaS solutions is highly desirable, and industry certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent are a plus.
