Manager, Accounting
Braze is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Manager of Accounting to lead operational accounting within a growing team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting, this role involves overseeing a team of financial accountants and managing a broad range of month-end and quarter-end close activities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and initiative, contributing to the company's dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include leading month-end and quarter-end close processes, preparing and reviewing GAAP-compliant journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reports, and flux analyses. The Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations across multiple legal entities, including cash, accruals, payroll and benefits accounting, operating expenses, cost of revenue, software expenses, and headcount and costing allocations. Additionally, the role involves coordinating and supporting statutory compliance and audits for international entities, developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP, and identifying and implementing process improvements, including automation initiatives and SOX compliance enhancements.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and have over five years of progressive accounting experience, including at least one year in a supervisory or managerial role. Prior experience in a Big 4 or large regional accounting firm is preferred, along with CPA and/or MBA qualifications. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance requirements is essential, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace. Experience with NetSuite, Coupa, and Numeric is preferred. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to optimize accounting and finance processes and possess strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Braze offers a competitive compensation package, with a salary range between $90,000 and $134,000 per year, and an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $100,000 and $150,000 per year, including bonus or commission. In addition to cash compensation, this role qualifies for a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants of restricted stock units (RSUs), ensuring employees have a stake in the company's success.
