Manager, Competitive Intelligence
The Manager of Competitive Intelligence at Legend Biotech will serve as a strategic partner, providing actionable insights to inform decision-making across research and development, commercial, and corporate strategy functions. This role involves leading proactive and on-demand competitive intelligence initiatives, including competitor monitoring, landscape assessments, early signal detection, conference surveillance, and strategic analysis to support pipeline development, lifecycle management, and long-term planning. The position is based in Somerset, New Jersey, and reports to the Commercial team.
Key responsibilities include leading competitive intelligence activities across assigned therapeutic areas, platforms, and programs, delivering high-quality, actionable insights to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. The Manager will conduct comprehensive landscape assessments encompassing scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial dimensions, monitor competitors' pipelines, clinical data, regulatory actions, collaborations, and market events to identify emerging threats and opportunities, and synthesize complex data into clear strategic recommendations. Additionally, the role involves leading end-to-end conference competitive intelligence planning and execution, building and maintaining competitive intelligence frameworks and dashboards, and serving as the competitive intelligence lead for research and development, commercial, business development, and strategy teams.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in life sciences, business, or a related field, with a minimum of three years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech competitive intelligence, strategy, consulting, or market research. Strong scientific and clinical acumen in relevant therapeutic areas, particularly hematology/oncology and autoimmune diseases, is preferred. The candidate should demonstrate a proven track record of delivering strategic insights and influencing decision-making, along with strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is proficiency in competitive intelligence methodologies, secondary research, data interpretation, and familiarity with competitive intelligence tools and databases.
Legend Biotech offers a comprehensive compensation package, including a base salary range of $123,605 to $162,232 USD, performance-based bonuses, and equity options for eligible roles.
