Manager, Data Engineer
The Manager, Data Engineer role at WPP Media involves leading the development and maintenance of data engineering solutions tailored for media measurement and analytics, specifically for the client Unilever. This position requires close collaboration with Unilever's data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, as well as WPP's internal teams, to ensure reliable, scalable, and high-quality data flows for media performance reporting and insights.
Key responsibilities include maintaining and supporting data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and storing media data from multiple sources within the Unilever environment. The role also involves assisting in the implementation of data models and semantic layers to support analytics and reporting use cases, building and maintaining dashboards and data visualization tools, and monitoring data quality to troubleshoot issues and implement improvements. Additionally, the Manager, Data Engineer will support the integration of new media data sources and tools relevant to Unilever's marketing and media strategies.
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience in data engineering or a related field, with proficiency in SQL, Python, and cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. Hands-on experience with dashboard development and maintenance using tools like Power BI or Tableau is essential, along with experience in data pipeline tools such as Databricks or Airflow. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, as well as the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
