Manager, Database Operations
Kapitus is seeking an experienced Manager of Database Operations to oversee and manage enterprise-scale databases within the AWS RDS ecosystem. This role is pivotal in ensuring the availability, security, performance, and scalability of all database platforms, while supporting engineering teams and driving operational excellence through proactive management and automation.
The Manager of Database Operations will be responsible for end-to-end operations of databases hosted in AWS RDS, including Aurora, MySQL, and SQL Server. Key responsibilities encompass architecting and maintaining high-availability configurations, implementing disaster recovery strategies, driving cost optimization, defining operational standards, and integrating database changes into CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployments.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, along with over 10 years of experience in database administration or operations, including at least 3 years in a leadership role. Strong hands-on experience with AWS RDS, proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, and expertise in performance tuning and troubleshooting at scale are essential. Preferred qualifications include AWS certifications and experience with automation tools and monitoring solutions.
Kapitus offers a competitive base salary ranging from $120,400 to $193,200, with eligibility for annual incentive compensation up to 15%.
