Manager of Technical Projects
Wilson Elser, a prominent defense litigation law firm with over 1,400 attorneys across 46 offices in the United States, is seeking a Manager of Technical Projects to join its Business Solutions & Innovations (BSI) Department in New York City. This role offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement and is integral to leading multiple project lifecycles and deliverables for the firm's most strategic and innovative business services initiatives.
The Manager of Technical Projects will oversee the planning, management, execution, and delivery of complex technical projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Key responsibilities include interpreting and documenting detailed business requirements, leading business process discovery, formulating and managing project plans, utilizing data for informed decision-making, developing testing plans, leading quality assurance testing, and assisting with the creation of training materials. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with internal departments such as Revenue and Finance on cross-functional projects involving financial systems, data analytics, reporting, and software integrations.
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of recent experience in a leadership or project management role within an Information Technology or Business Services department, including direct oversight of support staff. Experience leading projects through Agile, Iterative, or Hybrid methodologies is essential, with proficiency in using JIRA software for project and task management. Strong communication skills, expertise in project management fundamentals, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently are also required. A bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, or equivalent work experience is necessary, with certifications such as Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma, or PMP being highly desirable.
