The Manager of Technical Projects at Wilson Elser will lead multiple project lifecycles and deliverables for the firm's most strategic and innovative business services initiatives. This hands-on role resides within the Business Solutions & Innovations Department (BSI) and involves direct oversight and support of day-to-day departmental operations, particularly focusing on the firm's financial system (LMS/Rippe). The MTP will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

Key responsibilities include overseeing the planning, management, execution, and delivery of complex technical projects. The MTP will serve as a key point of contact for stakeholders, driving project success by interpreting and documenting detailed business requirements, leading thorough business process discovery, formulating and managing project plans, utilizing data to make informed decisions, developing testing plans, leading quality assurance testing, and assisting with the creation of training materials. Additionally, the role involves leading requirements gathering sessions, collaborating with internal and external IT resources for application development needs, developing detailed user stories, and managing projects using JIRA software as the central application for all team and task management.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of recent experience in a hands-on leadership or project management role within an Information Technology or Business Services department, managing both internal staff and external vendors. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervisory or management role with direct oversight of support staff is required. The candidate should have at least 3 years of recent experience leading projects through Agile/Iterative/Hybrid methodologies, operating in a Product Owner role when necessary to decompose high-level project requirements into actionable sprints and deliverables for the project teams. Proficiency in using JIRA software for project and task management is essential. A bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, or equivalent work experience is required. Experience with Aderant Financial System and Power BI Development Studio is strongly desired, along with certifications such as Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma, or PMP.
