As a Manager of Strategy and Business Operations at Duolingo, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's strategic direction and operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with leaders across various departments, including Growth, Language Learning, and Monetization, to drive alignment and progress on top priorities.
In this role, your primary responsibilities will include developing actionable strategies by combining market insights, user data, and product vision. You will assess new opportunities and markets, define problem spaces, generate hypotheses, conduct industry research, and execute iterative processes. Leading with data and structured judgment, you will establish success metrics, create clear frameworks, and make informed trade-offs among competing priorities. Additionally, you will partner cross-functionally with teams such as product, engineering, design, marketing, partnerships, data science, and finance to ensure cohesive execution.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of professional experience, demonstrating the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with rapid cycles of analysis, decision-making, and action. Strong analytical skills and logical thinking are essential, enabling you to develop data-driven understandings of complex problems and distill findings into clear conclusions. Excellent interpersonal skills are required to collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. A passion for Duolingo's mission to provide accessible education globally is highly valued.
Exceptional candidates may have experience in strategy or business operations functions, strategy consulting, product management, or strategic corporate development. A strong knowledge of and passion for the consumer tech industry, experience with mobile apps and subscription-based services, and a background in working with global or international teams are advantageous. Experience leading cross-functional projects in high-growth environments is also beneficial.
Duolingo offers a competitive salary range of $129,200 to $174,800 USD annually, along with equity compensation and comprehensive benefits.
