Motive is seeking a Manager of Technical Program Management to lead and develop a team of Technical Program Managers specializing in embedded software and feature integration. This strategic role is pivotal in defining execution strategies within the engineering organization as the company develops advanced custom hardware and software solutions. The position requires exceptional cross-functional leadership to bridge engineering, product, customer-facing, and business stakeholders, ensuring the timely delivery of strategic programs and continuous improvement of operational efficiency.

The Manager will be responsible for building and scaling a high-performing Technical Program Management organization by recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent. Key responsibilities include driving the flawless execution of mission-critical programs by maintaining schedule integrity, proactively identifying and eliminating blockers, clarifying requirements, and ensuring alignment across all stakeholders. The role also involves shaping strategic direction by influencing product roadmaps, driving data-informed feature prioritization decisions, and owning end-to-end schedule commitments with full accountability for delivery. Additionally, the Manager will champion operational excellence by designing, implementing, and continuously refining scalable processes, frameworks, and rituals that enhance cross-functional collaboration, visibility, and decision-making velocity. Serving as an escalation point for high-stakes technical and organizational challenges, the Manager will demonstrate sound judgment in navigating trade-offs and making decisions under uncertainty.

Candidates should have over six years of hands-on experience managing complex technical programs in Embedded Software or IoT domains, with demonstrated success in shipping multiple products from concept through mass production. At least one year of progressive people management experience is required, with a proven track record of building cohesive teams, developing talent, and driving organizational culture change. Experience in running planning processes for cross-functional organizations, driving prioritization, scoping, and feature trade-offs to ensure the development team can execute a durable plan with minimal churn, is essential. Strong technical fluency in IoT ecosystems, embedded systems architecture, firmware development, wireless connectivity protocols, and hardware-software integration challenges is necessary to earn credibility with engineering teams and make informed trade-off decisions. Demonstrated resilience and adaptability in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where priorities shift and resourcefulness is essential.

The compensation range for this position is between $200,000 and $240,000 USD annually, depending on the candidate's location. Motive offers benefits including health, pharmacy, optical, and dental care, paid time off, sick time off, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, and 401(k) contributions, subject to eligibility requirements.
