Manufacturing Engineer II - Mechanical Assembly
As a Manufacturing Engineer II - Mechanical Assembly at Rocket Lab, you will play a pivotal role in enabling the production team to achieve required production rates while maintaining the highest quality standards. This position involves taking ownership of products released to production, removing production blockers, dispositioning non-conformance tickets, performing root-cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and continuously improving manufacturing processes and procedures. You will work closely with the production team to optimize processes, develop manufacturing best practices, and implement new processes through prototyping, testing, and integration.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering, with proven problem-solving and risk mitigation skills in a manufacturing setting. Proficiency in technical documentation, project ownership, experience with PLM/ERP systems, lean manufacturing principles, new product implementation, and tooling design are essential. Desirable qualifications include experience in environmental/production testing (vibration, shock, thermal, vacuum) and knowledge of instrumentation such as power supplies, accelerometers, thermocouples, RTDs, and pressure sensors.
