Manufacturing Engineering Manager
As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Anduril Industries, you will lead a team dedicated to advancing the production of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). This role is pivotal in optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, and supporting the development and implementation of new products within a rapidly growing defense technology company.
Your primary responsibilities will include managing a team of manufacturing engineers, setting goals, and evaluating performance across various product lines. You will develop and execute strategic plans to enhance production capabilities, incorporating new technologies and methodologies. Collaboration with product development teams will be essential to ensure the manufacturability of new designs and a smooth transition from prototype to production. Additionally, you will oversee the selection, installation, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment, driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and enhance quality.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in a technical field such as engineering, mathematics, or a hard science, with at least 7 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware, including 3 years in a leadership role. A strong passion for manufacturing, a commitment to continuous improvement, and eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance are essential. Personal experience in physically manufacturing hardware through methods such as machining, fabrication, soldering, or assembly is highly valued.
