Manufacturing Equipment Engineer
The Manufacturing Equipment Engineer at Peak Energy will lead the development, deployment, and optimization of manufacturing equipment across current operations and future factory expansions. This role is pivotal in building out production lines at the Sacramento facility, overseeing the entire equipment strategy from initial concept and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) through vendor coordination, installation, commissioning, and validation.
Key responsibilities include designing and developing complete manufacturing lines for both in-house builds and supplier-sourced equipment, defining equipment concepts and technical specifications for high-volume manufacturing, leading the RFQ process and supplier selection, coordinating factory readiness and utility requirements, and supporting the transition from low-volume prototype builds to full-scale manufacturing. The engineer will also collaborate with Process Engineering to refine and deploy scalable manufacturing processes and support line optimization efforts throughout ramp and production maturity.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, including materials, GD&T, drafting standards, and engineering calculations. Proficiency in mechanical CAD and layout development (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE, AutoCAD) is required, with a preference for AutoCAD and CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE. Experience in designing and sourcing custom manufacturing equipment, supporting multiple equipment installations and product launches, and working knowledge of manufacturing quality practices such as PFMEA and control plans are essential. A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, along with strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, is required.
The salary range for this role is $125,000 to $185,000, with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills. The competitive benefits package includes flexible time off, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a strong 401(k) plan, and equity opportunities.
